            The Fifth Annual Conference of Bharatiya Mahila Darshanika Parishad (BMDP) is going to be held under the auspices of Osmania University, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh from 28-30 January, 2010. Dr. Padmavati, Head, Dept. of Philosophy will be the Local Secretary.

Focal Theme, Important Events & Dignitaries

            The focal theme of the conference is ‘Globalization and Fundamentalism’. Suggested Sub-themes are:

1. Fundamentalism: Reasons and Remedy
2. Terrorism: Causes and Effects
3. Problem of Fundamentalism and Role of Philosophy in Present Scenario
4. Fundamentalism and Women
5. Fundamentalism and Human Rights
6. Religious Terrorism
7. Others

Prof. (Dr.) Bibhuti Patel, HOD, Dept. of Economics, S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Mumbai has kindly consented to Preside over the Session.
      Apart from the Focal Theme deliberations will be made under following sections:

1. Epistemology and Philosophy of Language
2. Feminist Goals and Social Concerns
3. Ethics, Metaphysics and Religion

            Gargi Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Shubhashni Gandhi of Annamalai University, Tamilnadu.
            Dr. Vijay Shree Memorial Endowment Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Sree Kala M. Nayar, Dept. of Philosophy, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala.
            Symposium entitled ‘Women Philosophizing’ will be convened by Prof. Dr. Sajitha Adeep, Director, Women Studies Centre, Osmania University, Hyderabad. Interested persons may contact to Dr. Adeep for their paper presentation in the said symposium.

Call for Papers

            Research Papers are invited either in English or in Hindi language from the large domain of knowledge. Abstract of Paper along with registration & membership fee (for new members only) should reach latest by 10th January, 2010 to Dr. Neelima Sinha, General Secretary, BMDP (address noted on leaf) through a D.D. issued by a branch of Central Bank of India in favour of Bharatiya Mahila Darshanika Parishad payable at Bodhgaya.
            The full length papers should be sent latest by 15th January, 2010 to Dr. Hema More, Editor, e-journal of BMDP on e-mail ID   hemamore@rediffmail.com and Dr. Neelima Sinha, General Secretary, BMDP on e-mail ID neelima_sinha04@rediffmail.com so that these may be published in time.
